I was very sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. She was a terrific lady! One things about Laila (your mother) she could really make the “BEST” grape leaves. My great Aunt (Anne Freije) introduced me to your mother when she lived on the southside. She was just a wonderful person! I really enjoyed our conversations we had when I would stop by to pick up my food from here. You kids (sons) were lucky to have such a great Mom and a great cook. I remember when she stated she was moving to the north side to be closer to her sons and grandchildren. She told me to call when, I wanted to some Grape Leaves. She was a Grand Lady and she could really cook some of the BEST Grape leaves, Kibee, Cabbage Rolls, Meat Pies, and Bauklava. God Bless you all during this time. ><>…..

We are so sorry for your loss. We saw Laila at the doctor’s office and she told us of her health problems. We miss her beautiful yard every summer since your family moved from Suwanee Ct.

Laila was my grandma as well. My name is Gabriella and I still can remember her in my heart as I was very close with her. I have a lot of her jewelry. We will always remember her. I can still feel the warmth of her with me when I am in bed. I miss her very much and still today, I cry myself to sleep sometimes. Love with all my heart.
